Activities

At Big Voices Childcare Services LTD we aim to provide high quality play experiences for babies, children and young people. We work in accordance with The Play Strategy for Scotland, focusing on the importance of play for children within our care, and in accordance with Article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the child, which states that:

“Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities.”

We plan activities based around children’s likes and encourage creative play, physical play, constructive play, and imaginative play, as well as STEM activities. Our activities include both adult led and child led activities, where children have the opportunity to explore and learn new skills.

Providing the opportunity for free play within our services is highly beneficial to children’s overall learning and development therefore children are encouraged to choose play experiences freely.

We have a wide variety of resources which children can use to assist their play experiences. As well as toys, we also encourage children to use their imagination to create new play equipment. A big part of this is loose parts play which our children love.

We promote and provide outdoor play on a daily basis and ensure children have opportunities to explore their outdoor surroundings and take risks through risky play.
